BPCA is a Credit based Trade Association unlike most others.

First, BPCA was founded in 1875 making it the oldest Credit Trade Association in North America.

Secondly, it is market/channel specific. Unlike other credit associations that try to be "everything to everybody", BPCA's membership is for manufacturers, wholesalers, factors and distributors.

And, Third, BPCA provides outsource programs to assist members in several ways. These programs include: Collection Letters, Database for Resale Certificates along with monitoring, Processing Credit Applications.

BPCA provides the ability for members to obtain low cost payment reports online 24/7 in the form of BPCA Interchange Reports which are created from the extensive database of customers. These reports show industry specific information so you know how Vendors in your industry are being paid. and enable members to make informed credit determinations.

Members receive email notification of any Alerts that have been entered on their customers as they are entered by other members. Communication and information in a timely manner to our members is foremost at BPCA.

Twice a month the BPCA Bulletin is emailed to each member company's credit personnel. Another way to keep members informed about things going on in their industry.

BPCA holds industry group Interchange Meetings in various geographical locations as well as by conference call. These meetings are monitored at all times for strict compliance to the Antitrust Laws of the United States of America and Canada.

Alliances

Ansonia Credit Data
In 2011, BPCA and Ansonia Credit Data announced the creation of a new strategic alliance with Business Products Credit Association (BPCA), a 136-year-old organization that specializes in providing industry-specific credit reporting and tools to companies in all segments of the office products industry. The companies joined forces to create a custom portfolio management system designed to help industry group members prioritize their customer portfolios, and alert them to accounts receivable trending changes and high-risk payment behavior.

International Sanitary Supply Association
In 1996, BPCA became the designated Industry Credit Trade Association of the Janitorial/Sanitary Supply Industry through ISSA© (International Sanitary Supply Association), thereby creating the International Jan/San Industry Credit Group. BPCA has three additional industry groups: the National School Suppliers Credit Group, the National Promotional Products Credit Group, and the Plastics Manufacturing Credit Group. Credit Research Foundation
BPCA has an alliance with Credit Research Foundation (CRF). Both organizations work to assist the growth of the credit professional: CRF through continuing education; and BPCA through making available reports covering current payment trends and habits of the customer as well as outsource programs to assist the members.

Several members of BPCA belong to two or more of the BPCA Industry Credit Groups. Since BPCA continues to focus on the markets/channels of their members, they are able to bring more to the table for the membership than serving solely as a meeting planner or payment experience report provider. BPCA keeps informed about their member's customers and continually searches out information that is of importance to Creditors. With the extensive years of Credit Management on staff at BPCA , it is not uncommon for members to call the association office to see if anyone has indicated a problem they might be having with a particular Debtor or for suggestions on how best to handle a particular circumstance.
