In addition to the normal credit services, BPCA provides Out-Source programs that include:  Collection Service Letters; Credit Application Processing; Resale / Exemption Tax Certificate data base; and Distressed Debtor WorkoutsClick on the individual services above, or read about each below.

We are proud to say our employees possess a wealth of knowledge and experience to assist you with all of these services.

Collection Service Letters BPCA provides a low cost collection letter service that has been proven very effective for their members.  Letters are requested by entering an Alert online for Debtors that are not communicating or giving you a commitment for payment. BPCA sends them a letter - signed by BPCA's president.  Everyone knows, Follow-up is the key to good collections.  BPCA follows up with you following any letter sent to see if the customer has paid or made arrangements for payment.  If not, you may request the second letter (a series of three) be sent. The first letter is a request for the Debtor to send payment or contact you.  Number two is a stronger letter encouraging the Debtor to make their payment now.  And the third letter is a Final Demand.  If the Debtor has not paid within the time period specified, BPCA reminds you to place the account with a third party for collection – or, if you wish, BPCA is able to place the account with a successful agency on your behalf.  To request more information on this program, email service@bpca.org or call us.

CertTracker Every state government is in need of more money.  How do they get money?  Raise taxes?  How about collecting Sales Tax on goods delivered in their state.  When you ship to your customer, do you obtain a Retail Sales or Sales Tax Exemption Certificate?  Don’t wait until one of your Nexis states starts a Sales Tax Audit on your company.  BPCA , using the CertTracker Program will request of your customers the required Certificate to prevent the need for you to submit uncollected Sales Tax to the state.  After obtaining the Certificates, BPCA enters them into a database for you, and maintains that database – assuring expired Certificates are renewed, and validating each Certificate.  Save your company the additional expense of playing ‘catch-up’ by employing staff to get all needed Certificates by allowing BPCA to perform this function for you.  Call Debbie at 636-294-5775.

Credit Clears - You receive a 'first time' order from a new customer with an attached Application for Open Account Credit.  Your goal is to show the customer he is important to you by getting there order to them quickly.  But wait, you have a lot of work already on your desk that is time sensitive and now a Credit Application to process.  Save time and fax this Credit Application to BPCA (636-754-0567) and have BPCA get the information from the credit references and bank.  The information will be back in your hands in no more than 3 business days.  The cost is minimal - much less than paying a person at your company.  For more information on this program, call BPCA at the number above.

Debtor Workouts - There is an alternative to bankruptcy for distressed Debtors - through an out-of-court arrangement known as a Composition Agreement.

 Benefits to an ‘out-of-court’ arrangement:

  • Unsecured Creditors are involved in the plan
  • Maximum pay-out to creditors due to Lower Administrative Costs
  • Better communication with creditors
  • Fair and equal treatment of all unsecured creditors - no Creditor receives more or less than another unsecured creditor

BPCA has been involved in out-of-court processes for over 70 years.  How does this work?

·         Creditor contacts BPCA to advise of a customer having financial difficulties, and BPCA will contact the Debtor.

  • Creditors encourage Debtors to contact BPCA .

  • Debtors need to be receptive to this type of workout.

  • Today’s Bankruptcy Laws have made it easy for the Debtor to file bankruptcy – thereby incurring large legal fees that reduce money for the unsecured creditor.
